death by ice and fire

A tree falls in the forest

Ice takes hold of our hearts

Peek out to frozen decks

Death by ice and fire

Choose your own adventure death

Once again mourning the state of the forest

Who will speak for our fallen trees?

The trees were strong, yet the ice has won this battle

Climate Change waits in the wind

As the people who create

Sustain it-

Lead us on to collective doom

Hidden deep underground the roots regroup

Mourning their dead comrades

Their determination never wavers

Memories of fire burnt to our minds

The heat of hearts beating as one

Lungs intake fire

Breath of blackness and ash

Yet for now we wait

Kneeling under this dying tree

Kissing each other as though it’s the last time

Each breath its own miracle

It’s heartbeat a life

 dance in the fire

Waltz on thin ice

Love in the apocalypse

Kiss me again

 Ending the pending apocalypse
