Lost and Found

 Lost and Found

Fall springs into action,

Green leaves turn red and fall to ground

Abandoning the tree that gave them life

Does the tree mourn and fear,

As its leaves leave for an unknown ground?

An unknown world waits outside

Do parents fear as children grow?

We enter a world unknown

A spider spins her web, does she fear the fate of her children?

In silence now our world awaits a rebirth,

Of blood

Water

 fire

The world shut out by curtains,

Locked doors,

Lives of anxious pain

Does the fly weep when the spider eats her young?

Do mothers, or childless mourn deeper?

We grow up so impatiently, rushing to be adults

Who knew what confusion lay on the road ahead

Dreaming a new world,

Reborn from the ashes of the old,

In youthful energy we reachout

We burn

 We yearn to learn

The scars fade

Some keep walking others turn aside

Do our mothers fear?

As we walk to blinding light

A road unmapped

We seek to find a way

We lose our path,

We redirect

It’s hidden in the grass

A child is born, a cry goes up

The leaves fall on the ground

Bending down to button a coat

Slowly we walk along

Lost in grief,

I’ve found a new branch

As the leaves fall on the ground

We fear to lose what holds us back

Fall turns to winter

It’s cold ice breeze

Rushes past to freeze another tree

On ground froze solid we sit

Leaning into the storm we acknowledge it’s rage,

It’s right to exist

A flower springs up from the ground in youthful wonderment

We pick the flower and it dies

It’s life is gone so soon

The rage is burning through the night, an uninvited guest

A violin sings in this heart,

Songs of mourning

The heart thaws as it seeks,

Regaining peace of mind
