The Price of Life

The Price of Life

Ever question your value?

Unequal from the start,

Who profits from the human price tag?

Taught to see our value as they do,

When do we realize they assigned our value long ago?

Internalized inferiority complex

Who profits?

Self doubt

Why do we see ourselves as broken?

When were we taught that we are not equal, that our  life is a burden on society?

Who profits off internalized inequality?

Do we  now see our price tag for the myth it is?

Wake up to reality in all it’s nightmarish hell

Driving from hell, taking the road to away

 fire season is on us

It heats up our life

Our world burns around us

Our air fills with toxins

In a far off nations our nation drops bombs

Our price tag attached still,

We cling to the myth

We fear to awaken

We choose in our lifetime to burn or to thrive

To obey and be silent

Or do right

Take the path of resistance

Or lay down and die

What do they see as our value,

Do we matter to them?

Get up from our deathbeds,

Our world’s set to end

If we  work with each other

We still have a chance

To be one humanity united in cause

Or the fires can burn us

If we choose not to act

Hear the truth sung before us

It’s time now to act

This road is not easy

It’s dangerous

The end is not certain

Our death is assured if we don;t take this road

The fires consume us

While politicians debate climate change

When we know our value

We can see through the myth

We’ll unite in this struggle

Toward a new equal world

A world with no human price tag

 No Inequality,

No wars

A world built by everyone in the interest of all

No safe place to hide if we don;t heed the truth

Inequality is a myth to divide

The anguish surrounds us

The rage starts to swell

Seek the truth that we’re missing

Know our value,

Be free

While the stock market crashes

And rises again

As our freedoms are taken

The end is at hand

Hear the cries of injustice

Weep now

Rage later

Let our tears fall

A child is crying locked in a cage

ICE must be abolished for these children to be free

US prisons overflow with the guiltless

Our streets run with innocents blood

The US empire lays dying as,It;s victims bodies lay dead on the floor

It’s power is waning

May truth be spoken free of fear free of doubt

Free ourselves from the lies

A new world waits!
